Anna University & Open Source
In The Hindu it is quoted "The first national resource centre for free and open source software will be located at Anna University, Chennai".
The idea behind this move is to make software affordable to common masses, to produce localized applications and to train students of BE and MCA with good exposure in FOSS technologies. I would request Anna University to design syllabus for science students. They are currently lacking in FOSS technologies. This is because each university decides its own syllabus. If Anna university provides a common platform to design computer science syllabus, their real wish will reach to a large extent.
